Hey there—I’m the owner and brunette-obsessed stylist behind the chair! My journey started in Lawrence, but Kansas City has been home for over eight years now. I spent most of my career as a booth rental stylist, loving the freedom but also dreaming of something more. That dream started taking shape when I joined Thriver’s Society, a business program just for hairstylists. It lit a fire in me, and in June 2020—yes, mid-pandemic and all—I opened the doors to this salon.

 

Was it wild to open a business during COVID? Absolutely. But it taught me resilience, adaptability, and that sometimes you just have to trust your gut and go for it. The beauty industry never sits still, and neither do the people in it. Between shifting trends, evolving client needs, and what stylists are looking for in a salon, creating a strong culture is a constant balancing act. And sometimes? Life gets in the way. But there’s always room to regroup, realign, and move forward.

 

In 2019, I decided to fully lean into what I loved most—lived-in, low-maintenance brunette color. As a brunette myself, I knew how tricky it could be to get rich, dimensional tones without the brass or flatness. I immersed myself in education, learned from stylists I admired, and never stopped practicing. Now, I’m proud to be one of the go-to brunette specialists in Kansas City.

 

But more than the color, it’s the connection that keeps me going. Some clients call me their hairapist—and honestly, they’re not wrong. I get to be a safe space, a hype girl, a shoulder to lean on, and yes, occasionally a partner in crime for a little gossip. I show up as my full, authentic self behind the chair, and that helps my clients feel safe to do the same.

 

This salon is more than just a business—it’s a reflection of everything I’ve learned, loved, and worked hard to build. I’m so excited for what’s next and can’t wait to keep growing alongside the incredible people who walk through these doors.
